Mask

Medium: Ceramics and Stains with pictures

Statement:

The mask that I wear appears to be a serious and mean looking one. In the hallways or in classes that I don’t have friends my face seems like I would be a rude or mean person. It seems to intimidate a lot of people because my friends thought I looked intimidating before they started talking to me. But in reality I’m nothing like the mask that I wear, I’m always laughing and cracking jokes when I’m with my friends or when I’m in a comfortable environment. Which is why I decided to put the memes on the other side of my mask which is suppose to show who I really am. What inspired me to do this was my camera roll of all of the funny memes I have and how many of my friends now thought I was going to be really mean before they started talking to me.

This idea has a personal connection to me because a lot people judge others personalities on how they physically look. Which is unfair because that isn’t a valid reason to assume something about another, especially if you’ve never spoken to them. Society is really quick to judge people based on physical appearances which is unfortunate because people are missing out on being friends with many amazing people that are out there.
